Nobody owns the student who stopped coming
Everyone is busy teaching. A student who misses three classes in a row rarely gets a call until the cancellation email arrives.
For martial arts school owners
Turnuply notices when a student stops showing up, texts them (or their parents) at the right moment, and gives your instructors one-tap tasks when a personal touch matters. You get a short weekly summary, not another dashboard to run.

Illustration with sample data. Turnuply counts students who are drifting away, texts the student or parent with a short friendly check-in, shows the owner who came back, and compares the result with a control group that did not get follow-up.
The problem
Most cancellations do not start with a decision. They start with a missed class that nobody follows up on.
Everyone is busy teaching. A student who misses three classes in a row rarely gets a call until the cancellation email arrives.
Belt tests feel far away, so kids and parents lose the sense of moving forward. That is when “maybe we’ll take a break” starts.
Students stay for their friends and their coaches. Without community, skipping a class costs them nothing.
How it works
Link your school software (Mindbody, Pike13, Gymdesk, Zen Planner, Kicksite or Spark via Zapier) or upload a CSV. Setup takes about 10 minutes, by chat.
When a student starts to drift, Turnuply sends a friendly text to the student or, for minors, their parent. Replies are handled automatically.
If a personal touch is needed, the instructor gets a one-tap task. You get a short weekly summary instead of a dashboard to check every day.
What you get
Gentle texts at the right moment, with instructor fallback when a student does not respond.
Parents see discipline, friendships and skills, so they know what their child gets out of class.
Students and parents see how far they have come and what is next, long before belt test day.
Events, training buddies and challenges give students a reason to show up for each other.
When a card fails, families get a polite nudge to fix it before it turns into a cancellation.
Reach out to people who left, at a pace you control, with a simple way to come back.
See how students who got follow-up compare with similar students who did not.
Measured, not promised
We do not ask you to take our word for it. Turnuply leaves a small, randomly chosen group of at-risk students out of automated follow-up. That is the control group.
Your weekly summary compares how many students came back in each group. If followed-up students return more often, you can see it. If it is still too early to tell, we say so.
Integrations
Connected through Zapier or a simple CSV upload.
For payment-failure recovery. Product names belong to their respective owners.
Respectful by design
Texts go only to people who agreed to receive them. Everyone can reply STOP at any time.
No messages late at night or very early in the morning, in each family’s local time.
Limits on how often anyone can be contacted, so follow-up never turns into spam.
Messages about students under 18 are sent to their parent or guardian, not to the child.

Questions
It watches attendance, notices when a student starts to drift away, and follows up for you by text. When a personal touch is needed it creates a one-tap task for the right instructor. Owners get a short weekly summary of who came back and how the results compare with a control group.
No. Turnuply is built so you do not operate it daily. Setup is a short chat, and after that it runs on its own and sends you a weekly summary.

No. Messages are consent-based, everyone can reply STOP anytime, and there are quiet hours and frequency caps. Messages about minors go to their parents. Read the SMS Policy.
A small, randomly chosen group of at-risk students is left out of automated follow-up. We compare how many of them come back with how many of the followed-up students do. You see that comparison in your own data, including when it is still too early to tell.
